Katy ISD is a fast-growing suburban school district on the west side of Houston, Texas. As a result of this growth, Katy ISD hires 800+ teachers, counselors, librarians, nurses, and administrators, paraprofessional, food services, bus drivers, custodial employees and others each year. Applications are accepted and processed throughout the year.

Merrell Center on Saturday, April 22, 2017.  Secondary (8:30-11:30 a.m.) & Elementary (1:00-4:00 p.m.)  No registration is required.  All attendees must bring a copy of their certificate and/or exam scores in order to be admitted.</div><div class="ExternalClassF8CE34F5663547729693DC2B1ED68AD1"><p><br></p><p> ​</p></div>
2016-17 Salary Schedules Approved!2016-17 Salary Schedules Approved!2016-07-27T15:14:18Z<div class="ExternalClassDB48FC235DED4D5A9F7FD54A62E510B3"><p>​On July 25, 2016 Katy ISD's Board of Trustees approved the Teacher and Non-Teacher salary schedules. It reflects a 1% or step increase, whichever is greater, for all paid on the teacher salary schedule.  A 1% mid-point increase was approved for all non-teacher pay ranges.​</p></div>
TRS SurchargeTRS Surcharge2017-02-22T15:36:48Z<div class="ExternalClassECFFDCB683DC4D29A1046B91E760AD56"><p></p><p class="x_MsoNormal">Retired former employees that are rehired in Katy ISD may be subject to surcharges set by the Texas Retirement System.  <strong>Any TRS-retiree seeking full or part-time employment with Katy ISD must validate they have not been employed by a TRS-covered employer for 12 consecutive, calendar months.  TRS-retirees that desire to work as a substitute are NOT subject to the 12-month <span class="highlight">g</span>uideline, but are subject to all TRS <span class="highlight">g</span>uidelines and any incurred surcharges.  </strong></p><p class="x_MsoNormal">Surcharges apply to the employment of any retiree who:</p><p class="x_MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-0.25in;"><span style="font-family:symbol;">·<span style="font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"times new roman";font-stretch:normal;">        </span></span>retired after September 1, 2005 and </p><p class="x_MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-0.25in;"><span style="font-family:symbol;">·<span style="font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"times new roman";font-stretch:normal;">        </span></span>is working a TRS-eligible position (half-time or more)</p><p class="x_MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-0.25in;"><span style="font-family:symbol;">·<span style="font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"times new roman";font-stretch:normal;">        </span></span>combining substitute work and half-time employment</p><p class="x_MsoNormal"> </p><p class="x_MsoNormal">**Exceptions could be made for TEA defined hard-to-fill positions**</p><p class="x_MsoNormal"> </p><p class="x_MsoNormal">Surcharges do not apply to retirees working:</p><p class="x_MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-0.25in;"><span style="font-family:symbol;">·<span style="font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"times new roman";font-stretch:normal;">        </span></span>as a substitute as defined by TRS</p><p class="x_MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-0.25in;"><span style="font-family:symbol;">·<span style="font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"times new roman";font-stretch:normal;">        </span></span>less than half-time</p><p class="x_MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-0.25in;"><span style="font-family:symbol;">·<span style="font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"times new roman";font-stretch:normal;">        </span></span>retired <strong>before </strong>September 1, 2005</p><p class="x_MsoNormal"> </p><p class="x_MsoNormal"><strong>Rehired retirees who signed an employment contract with KISD prior to July 1, 2016 are <span class="highlight">g</span>randfathered.​</strong></p></div>
