Thousands of brand new, colorful titles lined the shelves just waiting to be checked out. And finally, Mrs. Melissa Nored, Library Media Specialist at Olga Leonard Elementary, invited students into their fantastic new library! Leonard Elementary fifth-graders were pumped to be the lucky first visitors to the library. Anticipation had been building, and the students excitedly rushed to the shelves to check out all the selections -- fiction chapter books, graphic novels, nonfiction resources, as well as picture books. There are lots to choose from, and Mrs. Nored looks forward to continue growing the collection with input from her students and teachers over the next year. The attractive new space offers a generous classroom area as well as a variety of comfortable seating and tables for students to work on research or sit quietly to read. Mrs. Nored believes the charm of the library - with its color, fun design and light from the large windows - will help make the Leonard Library the heart of the school -- where all are welcome to explore and find connection, encouragement, and inspiration.
