Katy ISD is Powering Up for Back to School 2021-22Katy ISD is Powering Up for Back to School 2021-222021-07-27T14:47:51Z<div class="ExternalClassBFF6F71E36E34BA0A8CC5480161AC8D5"><p style="text-align:center;"><span><img src="/PublishingImages/Slideviewer.jpg" alt="" style="margin:5px;width:400px;height:155px;" /><br></span></p><p><span style="text-align:justify;">Katy Independent School District is excited to welcome back over 85,000 students on Wednesday, August 18 for the 2021-22 school year.</span><span style="text-align:justify;">  </span><span style="text-align:justify;">Prior to the first day of school, Katy ISD encourages parents and students to </span><em style="text-align:justify;">Power Up for Back to School</em><span style="text-align:justify;"> through the District's online registration system, </span><a href="/registration/Pages/default.aspx" style="text-align:justify;">PowerSchool Enrollment</a><span style="text-align:justify;">.  A new student is defined as a K-12 learner who has never attended a school within Katy ISD, or a previous Katy ISD student who withdrew and is re-enrolling. </span><br></p><p style="text-align:justify;">All Katy ISD students are required to enroll, or update their information, for the new school year using the online registration system.  Enrollment and updates will take place in two phases which include:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Monday, July 26, 2021 – New student enrollment reopens</li><li>Monday, August 2, 2021 – Annual Student Update Opens (for current Katy ISD students)</li></ul><p style="text-align:justify;">Before beginning the online registration process for new students, it's recommended that parents have the following documentation ready to upload:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Proof of Residence:  A utility bill (light, water or gas), purchasing paperwork or lease agreement.  If a lease agreement or purchasing paperwork is provided at the time of registration, a utility bill must be provided within 30 days of occupancy.</li><li>Official Birth Certificate or Passport of Student</li><li>Government-issued Identification Care of Person Registering Student</li><li>Proof of Immunization</li><li>Report Card or Transcript at Recently Attended School</li></ul><p>Join Katy ISD as we <em>Power Up for Back to School</em> with PowerSchool Enrollment.  For more information, visit the <a href="/registration/Pages/default.aspx">Katy ISD Online Registration webpage</a>.<br></p><p><br></p></div>
Katy ISD Employees Rewarded with a Pay IncreaseKaty ISD Employees Rewarded with a Pay Increase2021-06-29T03:00:05Z<div class="ExternalClass0F6BADBDC36243FD91BD42415D12AC22"><p>​<span style="text-align:justify;">At the Regular Board meeting, Katy Independent School District Trustees made it a budget priority to ensure teachers and staff are recognized for their ongoing commitment to District students and families following a school year fraught with a pandemic, a winter freeze and many other challenges. Trustees approved a 2% pay increase to be distributed beginning in July 2021, or depending on the staff member's contract start date, with a 1% one-time lump sum payment to be provided this December. </span></p><p style="text-align:justify;">Pay increases are calculated based on an employee's midpoint rates of pay found on the <a href="/dept/hr/Documents/2022%20Pay%20Ranges.pdf">Katy ISD Human Resources webpage</a>.  Regular part-time employees will also benefit from this increase approved tonight.<br></p><p><br></p></div>
Katy ISD Board of Trustees Discuss Attendance Boundary Modifications for New Elementary School Katy ISD Board of Trustees Discuss Attendance Boundary Modifications for New Elementary School 2021-06-29T01:54:56Z<div class="ExternalClassB82B67632D0E4E23A6D3479AE91CEE3C"><p>​<span style="text-align:justify;">Tonight during the Katy Independent School District Board of Trustees regular monthly meeting, Chief Operations Officer Ted Vierling, along with Population and Survey Analysts (PASA) presented a proposed attendance boundary modification (ABM) for Bryant Elementary.  The proposal would address the rapid growth within the neighborhoods surrounding that campus and transition students who reside primarily in the Cane Island development to Elementary #44.  The feedback of parents impacted by the Bryant Elementary ABM proposal will be solicited, beginning tomorrow and through October 8, via an ABM survey. </span></p><p style="text-align:justify;">A minor ABM was also proposed for Paetow High School (PHS) that would provide the campus enrollment relief, and increase the student population at Morton Ranch High School.  Only a small number of students who will be enrolled as eighth-graders during the 2021-22 school year, and currently zoned to PHS, would be affected by this proposed ABM which is set to take effect in Fall 2022.  </p><p style="text-align:justify;">“Within the next two to three years, the northwest quadrant of Katy ISD will begin to see an increased growth that includes community developments," said Ted Vierling, Chief Operations Officer at Katy ISD.  “These minor ABM adjustments will ensure efficiency as it relates to campus usage and will balance high school enrollment prior to the opening of High School #10 in 2024," added Vierling. </p><p style="text-align:justify;">Elementary #44 is the first build-out of the 2021 voter-approved bond program, set to be located in the northwest quadrant of Katy ISD in the Cane Island subdivision, with an open date of Fall 2022.  Bryant Elementary School would be the only elementary school impacted by the opening of Elementary #44.  </p><p style="text-align:justify;">A final ABM recommendation for both proposed ABMs will be presented at the October 2021 Regular Board Meeting.  For more information and to view current and proposed ABM visit the <a href="/ABM/pages/ABM.aspx">Katy ISD ABM website</a>.<img src="file:///C:/Users/C1660359/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image002.jpg" alt="" style="text-align:left;font-size:13px;width:558px;margin:5px;" /></p><p><br><br></p></div>
