About Winborn Elementary

Winborn Elementary is known for its academic excellence, doing what's best for children as well as its warm and caring atmosphere. It opened in 1981, though originally as Williamsburg Settlement Elementary, and was renamed in honor of founding principal, Diane Winborn, after her death in 1992.

The DWE motto is “Be Exceptional, Soar to Success”.  This motto was developed with the input from community members, parents and staff members.   Our Exceptional Eagle Assemblies each grading period is just one way we support this motto and encourage students to work hard towards following the character trait being recognized during that period.    

Parents and community members are also important to the instructional team.  Support from our PTA, parent volunteers, business partners and KEYS (Keep Encouraging Youth Toward Success) program help support our staff, campus beautification and financial resources.
